Rebecca Printen uses Ayurvedic Massage Therapy, also known as Indian Head Massage, for a variety of patient problems. Indian Head Massage is part of an ancient healing system from eastern India known as Ayurvedic Medicine. This type of massage provides great relief to the head, neck, shoulders and upper back. It destresses and relaxes the whole body and revitalizes the individual. Many clients report an increase in energy for several days.
Indian Head Massage can be effective for stress, anxiety and depression. Rebecca has had excellent results with people who are suffering from migraines, Fibromyalgia or TMJ syndrome. This therapy also works well for sinus problems, chronic fatigue syndrome and is helpful as an adjunct treatment for multiple sclerosis, asthma and certain skin conditions.
Because the client is seated upright, Indian Head Massage is ideal for those in wheelchairs, pregnant women and people with respiratory problems. If appropriate, a home program of exercises and stretches can be designed for the client to help maintain relaxation in the upper body. This form of massage also works on an emotional level, calming the spirit and promoting relaxation.
Rebecca has a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy,
certification in Indian Head Massage and level two training in
Reiki. She enjoys traveling, practicing yoga and lives with her
husband, two children and three cats in Middleton.
